Phonics Sounds

The aim of our phonics program, Jolly Phonics, is to teach children to read and write through an early systematic phonics program.  The students are taught the main 42 sounds of English, not just the alphabet sounds.  The letters are taught in groups of six, and we learn a new sound each day.  The letter sound groups are listed below.
