Mrs. Holmgren’s Kindergarten

Units and Themes:  We will focus on a particular theme for about 1-2 months.  The theme is incorporated into the core subjects. 

August/September -

Insects and Butterflies    Or      Tadpoles and Frogs  

Þ The students get to raise butterflies from tiny caterpillar eggs or frogs from tadpoles. 

October - Apples and Fall  

Þ While learning about the fall season, the students get to take a tour of an apple orchard or a pumpkin patch.

November - Harvest and Thanksgiving

December - Christmas

January - Winter and Penguins  

February - Valentines and Teeth 

March - Mice   

April - Ocean

May - Spring and Weather
